Tom Maloney of Signature Homes is One of the Pack
When Cub Scout leaders Scott Holland and David Gray discussed what their Cub Scout troop could do to earn their engineering badges, one idea rose to the top. Why not ask a builder to show the pack how a home is built? So they decided to call Signature Homes by J.T. Maloney, Inc. Scott had purchased a home four years earlier and had enjoyed the home building experience with Signature Homes. So Scott called Tom Maloney, the owner of Signature Homes, and asked Tom if he would be interested in lending a hand. Tom was more than delighted to help and introduce the Cub Scouts to the world of home building.
Tom met the Cub Scouts at his Lafayette Meadows community in Forks Township, Pennsylvania. He supplied each of the boys with a blue print of a home that was currently under construction and walked them through the home demonstrating all the aspects that are required to build a home. After the boys walked the home under construction, they visited the model home at Lafayette Meadows to view the finished product. Tom then presented each Cub Scout with a nail apron and a Signature Homes T-shirt and answered all of their questions. Each of the Cub Scouts earned their Engineering Badge. I had a great time meeting with the boys and showing them what it takes to build a home. I am very proud of our houses and I enjoy what I do, so to be asked to meet with young people and introduce them to homebuilding was a pleasure said Tom Maloney with a smile. It was a great experience for everyone involved.
